Here are just a few of the topics that we've assisted people with:
Anxiety
We all feel anxious in certain situations but for some people these feelings can become overwhelming and life altering. Coping strategies can help to manage different forms of anxiety, including health anxiety and social anxiety.
Depression
Depression is extremely common but talking about it is often seen as a taboo. Depression can make people feel isolated but you're not alone - there are effective treatments if you're willing to ask for help.
Self Esteem
Self-esteem is the opinion that we have of ourselves. When self-esteem is low, we tend to see ourselves and our life in a more negative and critical light. We may also feel less able to take on the challenges that life throws at us. Low self-esteem over the longer-term could have a harmful effect on our mental health and our day-to-day lives; you may shy away from social situations, stop trying new things or avoid doing the things that you may find challenging. Living with low self-esteem may lead to anxiety and depression.
Relationship Difficulties
You may think that counselling is the last resort and only needed when things get really bad. We're here to support you whenever you may need us, no matter what situation you face in your relationship.
Grief & Loss
Coping with grief after losing someone close to you can be difficult and become overwhelming. Grief is a natural process and we can support you through some of the more common emotions, such as shock, anger, guilt and longing.
Sexual Abuse
Counselling offers support if you have experienced recent or historic rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse. You can speak about your thoughts and feelings in confidence to assist your recovery from the trauma of rape and sexual abuse.
