Privacy Notice - How we collect and use your information

 

Who we are

 

Clevedon Counselling is operated by Judith Howell and Shelley Limbrick.  For the purposes of processing your personal data, and in accordance with GDPR, we are both defined as Data Controllers.  The Data Protection Act 2018 requires us to notify the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) that we process personal data.  The ICO publish a Register of Data Controllers and our individual registration numbers are as follows:  Judith Howell, ZA417421; Shelley Limbrick, ZA375814.

 

The information we collect

 

We receive, collect and store any information received directly from you through our website or that you choose to provide to us in any other way.  We may also collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet.

 

How we’ll use your information

 

When you use the contact form within Clevedon Counselling’s website to submit an enquiry, we will use the relevant information for the purposes of contacting you, to discuss what brings you to counselling and to arrange an initial appointment.

 

We will not use or share your contact information, personal data for any purpose other than those stated in this Privacy Notice.  You should be aware of the following exception: 

 

In order to safeguard you and those around you, if you disclosed to us that you were going to carry out harm to yourself or someone else, ‘duty of care’ obligations may require us to share your personal information with the relevant authorities.

 

How we communicate with you and store your personal information

 

Any electronic data in the form of e-mails or text messages that we may exchange are password protected and shall be deleted at the end of our work together or if you decide not to proceed beyond your initial enquiry.  Any voicemail messages that you may leave for us if you choose to call either of us shall also be deleted once it has been listened to.  Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

 

Clevedon Counselling is hosted on the Wix.com platform.  Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to advertise the Counselling service that we offer.  Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications.  They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

 

Your rights

  • Right of access - you have a right to access your personal data at any time.  Any such request should be made in writing and will be responded to within one month.

  • Right of rectification - if you believe that any of the personal data held is inaccurate or incomplete please provide us with details of the changes to be made and these will be applied without delay.

 

Privacy policy updates


We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently.  Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.  If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
